Nikita Korostelev scored two goals for the second straight night to lead the Sarnia Sting to a 3-2 shootout win over the visiting Peterborough Petes in OHL play Saturday night.

The Petes jumped out to a 1-0 lead with just three minutes remaining in the first period on a goal by Logan DeNoble. CJ Clarke put the Petes ahead 2-0 with a second period goal. The game remained 2-0 after two frames despite the Sting holding a 21-10 advantage on the shot clock.

Korostelev cut the lead to 2-1 with his seventh goal of the year just 24 seconds into the third period and then tied the game on the powerplay.

The game remained tied until the shootout where Korostelev and Anthony Salinitri each scored to preserve the win for the Sting.
