Gun Investigation Leads To Drug Bust, Multiple Arrests

An investigation involving a restricted handgun by Sarnia police Wednesday afternoon resulted in a significant drug seizure and the arrest of six people.

Constable Nelson Amaral says a search warrant was executed around 12:40pm at a home in the 100-block of Canterbury Crt.

"Members of the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit along with the Emergency Response Team and COPPS unit executed the warrant," says Amaral. "Upon entry, officers located and seized approximately 47 g of suspected cocaine and 3 g of cannabis marijuana with a total street value of $4,715 and $1,930 in cash."

Constable Amaral says the firearm in question was also located and found to be a replica handgun.

Police say three 22-year-old men from Sarnia, a 25-year-old Port Lambton man, a 27-year-old male from London and a 22-year-old London woman were arrested.

All six were charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and were being held for bail hearings.

The London residents were also charged with breaching probation.
