The City of Sarnia's accomplishments in improving accessibility are being celebrated at the third annual Accessibility Summit Thursday.
Accessibility Coordinator Dale Mosley says Sarnia has made many strides and is on the leading edge to set examples for other communities.
"We had a Breaking Barriers to Business program that we've launched here," he says. "We're doing the mobility charging stations that are strategic throughout town where people can just plug in. I think also Community Living they offer community employment programs hiring people with disabilities. Our CIC program at Lambton College is being modeled across regionally."
Mosley says each year, the interest grows for improving and celebrating local accessibility.
This year's summit is focused around the theme of education and features various speakers including President of Lambton College Judith Morris and Western University Professor Jacqueline Spect.
It takes place from 11:30am until 1:30pm at the Lambton College Event Centre.
