City Police Relentlessly Pursuing Murder Investigation

Sarnia police have yet to lay charges directly related to the death of Jonathan Patrick Pike.

The 26-year-old Sarnia man's body was found in a wooded area off of Tashmoo Ave. in the early morning hours Good Friday, March 25.

An update released Thursday says the investigation has become a priority for the police service and the criminal investigation branch is relentlessly pursuing the case using all resources available.

A vehicle believed related to the homicide was seized following a pursuit with Lambton OPP in the area of Michigan Line and Hwy. 21 early Easter Sunday morning. Two occupants are charged with flight from police.

Police say they're continuing their investigation into the vehicle and are "pursuing all avenues of information and evidence."

Cause of death has not been released yet, although sources have told BlackburnNews.com that gunshots were heard in the Tashmoo area.

Pike had worked at Purdy Fisheries and his father and brother are also employed at the Point Edward business.

Police are asking for the public’s help in the investigation.

Anyone with information about the death of Jonathan Pike is asked to contact the Sarnia Police Service at 519-344-8861, extension 5300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
