Legionnaires Lose To First Place Flyers

The Sarnia Legionnaires (21-18-2-3) dropped a hard fought 4-2 decision at the hands of the first place Leamington Flyers (35-6-1-0) in GOJHL hockey action Saturday night at Sarnia Arena.

Mark Gangnon got the Flyers on the board just 3:05 into the first period off a give away in front of the Sarnia net. Zach Guilbeault made it a 2-0 game on a feed from Cale Phibbs at 16:44.

After a scoreless second frame, the Flyers pulled ahead 3-2 on a controversal goal by defenceman Nicolas Mainella 8:42 into the third. The Legionnaires argued goaltender interference on the play but to no avail.
