Hatchery Maintenance Project

The Bluewater Anglers are asking for industry and public help with reconstruction of their current hatchery system.

Over the past 30 years, the humid environment has taken a toll on equipment and structures. Their aeration tower and tank decking area are in desperate need of refurbishment.

Spokesman Brad Armstrong says they're looking for donations in the form of labor or funding.

The estimated cost is $50,000 for materials, equipment and labour. The hatchery maintenance project is in urgent need of reconstruction before the fall egg collection.

Volunteers have successfully released over 5-million salmon and trout into Lower Lake Huron and the St. Clair River since 1985.
