Lambton County Internet Access Meeting Tuesday

Potential improvements to high speed internet access across Lambton county, especially in rural areas, will be discussed at a planned meeting Tuesday night.

Right now, certain spots in the county are without reliable internet access. A program called Southwestern Integrated Fibre Technology (SWIFT) has been long been pushed for by the Western Warden's Caucus. Corporate Manager of Information Technology Robert Wilks says if the $290-million SWIFT program were introduced, Lambton's share would be about $1-million.

Tuesday's meeting gets underway at 7pm at the Lion Hall in Wyoming and the public is welcome to attend. Lambton county council will meet at a later date to discuss the results of the meeting.
