OFSAA Track and Field Local Results

Several local high school athletes are returning to school today with medals from the OFSAA Track and Field meet that was held in Toronto from June 4-6.

In women’s events, Riley Wilhelm from St. Patrick’s Secondary School threw 37.72m to take home silver in senior discus. The senior 4x100m relay team at Northern Collegiate Institute and Vocational School won bronze. The team consists of Brianne Ferguson, Skyla Minaker, Kristy Hodgins and Kelly Hodgins.

On the men’s side, Josh Mather from Strathroy D.C.I. threw 54.04m, good enough for silver in junior javelin. Collin Burrowes from Northern Collegiate Institute and Vocational School won bronze in junior discus with a toss of 48.34m.

Saturday was the final day of competition, here are the weekend results for local athletes:

Junior Javelin
4th – Marissa Mueller (Lambton Central) – 37.90 (winning throw: 42.33m)

Men:
Senior 4x100m relay
4th – St. Patrick’s Secondary School (Patrick Lange, Joey Eddleston, Travis Garrity, Mitch Damchuk) – 43.63 (winning time: 42.45)

Senior High Jump
7th – Sebastian Smith (Northern) – 1.90m (winning height: 2.10m)

Junior Discus
3rd – Collin Burrowes (Northern) – 48.03m (winning throw: 56.21m)
16th – Andrew Bradshaw (Northern) – 40.69m
