Pinery Park Ready for Long Weekend

Officials at Pinery Provincial Park are prepared for a busy start to the summer camping season.

The long Victoria Day weekend heralds the unofficial start of summer.

Pinery Natural Heritage Supervisor Alistair MacKenzie said Friday they had just 28 non-electric sites left but were still open for day use from 8am to 10pm.

MacKenzie says the visitor centre exhibits are always open and hiking is a popular activity.

He reminds campers that The Pinery, like other provincial parks, is alcohol-free through Victoria Day Monday.
