Letowski, Delmore Out, Hatcher Taking Over

Just days after the end of the season, the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club has announced that new co-owner Derian Hatcher is taking over as Head Coach of the OHL team, effective immediately.

Sting President Bill Abercrombie, in a news release issued late Tuesday afternoon, says Trevor Letowski and Assistant Coach Andy Delmore have been relieved of their duties and will not be part of the coaching staff heading into the 2015-2016 season.

Abercrombie says Letowski and Delmore did a great job behind the bench this past season.

Hatcher's complete coaching staff will be announced at a later date.

Hatcher, a former NHL player and current player David Legwand of the Ottawa Senators acquired the Sting from Rob and Larry Ciccarelli in January and the sale was approved by the OHL Board of Governors in early March.

Letowski, a popular former Sting player, was named Head Coach in June 2013 after serving three seasons behind the bench in assistant and associate roles.

Delmore, also a former Sting player, was hired as an assistant to Letowski in July 2013.
