Sarnia Is Getting Passport Services

Sarnia is getting passport services.

The Service Canada Centre, at 529 Exmouth St., will start offering passport receiving services March 2, 2015.

Sarnia-Lambton MP Pat Davidson made the announcement Wednesday morning, on behalf of Employment and Social Development Minister Jason Kenney.

Davidson says providing passport services to clients in the Sarnia area will allow increased capacity and efficiency for the Government of Canada.

She says passport receiving agents assist residents with their standard passport application by reviewing it on site for completeness, verifying supporting documents, accepting payment and forwarding it on for processing.

MP Davidson says the announcement reinforces a commitment made in May 2013 to expand access to passport services.

Currently, many Sarnia-Lambton residents travel to London to have passports reviewed.
