Feelings Mixed On New Community Brand

Sarnia council has mixed feelings about Lambton County's new community brand "Discoveries that Matter."

In a 6-2 vote, staff received the green light to implement the logo and slogan into the city's communication and marketing initiatives.

However, new councillor's Cindy Scholten and Brian White weren't convinced.

Scholten feels the decision is premature with staff are expected to report back soon on the city's marketing, sponsorship and advertising programs.

Lambton County Warden and City Councillor Bev MacDougall says she's happy with the result and that it pulls all 11 municipalities and 3 first nation communities together.

The brand was created by a group representing organizations across Lambton County.

Working with the marketing design company Y-Factor, the new brand had a price tag of $70,000.
