Sting Makes Pair Of Deadline Deals

The Sarnia Sting has made a pair of trades in advance of Friday afternoon's deadline.

The Sting has sent import Vladislav Kodola to the Saginaw Spirit for a fifth round pick in 2017 and has picked up 17-year-old defenceman Josh DeFarias from London for a seventh rounder in 2017.

Over two seasons Kodola, an 18-year-old Belarusian, amassed ten goals and 41 points in 98 games with the Sting.

DeFarias meantime, is pointless in just ten career OHL games. He's spent the majority of the season with Waterloo of the GOJHL and is a former teammate of current Sting forwards Chase Campbell and Troy Lajunesse. He's also familiar with Sting Assistant Coach Chris Lazary who is a former coach with the Siskins.

The trade follows the blockbuster deal earlier this week that send Anthony DeAngelo to the Sault Greyhounds for Anthony Salinitri and draft picks.
