The Trees Grand Bend Committee is hoping to see 5,000 trees planted in the community in the next ten years.
Co-chair Max Morden says the committee was established to foster and support the planting of native trees.
He says the Lake Huron resort community suffered a significant loss of tree canopy due the the emerald ash borer and the tornado in July.
The committee has sent up an Aviva community fund to raise money for the initiative.
