Legionnaires Win Battle Of Lambton

The Sarnia Legionnaries picked up their second win in seven games, a 6-4 victory over county-rival Lambton Shores in GOJHL action.

The Legionnaires jumped out to a 4-0 lead midway through the second period. Lambton Shores scored two quick powerplay goals to pull to within two before the end of the frame after Jordan Fogarty took a five minute major for checking from behind.

The two teams each notched two goals in the final period.

Legionnaires Head Coach Dan Rose is pleased with the effort.

Preds Assistant Coach Dave Mancari is happy with the way his team battled back.

Davis Boyer led the way for the Legionnaires with a hat-trick and an assist while linemate Riley Babkirk picked up four helpers.

Ethan Sarfati scored twice and added a helper for Lambton Shores. Colin Burns, Ryan Fraser, and Brenden Trottier each had a pair of points.

The shots on goal were even at 38 apiece. Lambton Shores went three for six on the powerplay while the Legionnaires scored once on two chances.

Sarnia plays Friday night in St. Marys while the Preds host St. Thomas Saturday.
