New Buses On Route
The city of Sarnia is getting two new transit buses next year. The 40 foot vehicles will carry up to 70 passengers and will be fully accessible.
City Transit Manager Jim Stevens says they’ll meet the latest emissions standards and will be equipped with electrical accessories.
Sarnia is partnering with 12 other Ontario municipalities to buy the buses, a move that will save a total of $38,000.
The vehicles still come at a price tag of $470,000 each.
Stevens says the city has an ongoing vehicle replacement program that calls for one to two new buses per year and a new caravan every three years subject to council approval.
