It’s municipal election day in Ontario.

One glitch was reported in Sarnia at Clearwater Arena Monday morning where a couple of vote tabulators had to be replaced.

Three people, James Carpeneto, Jake Cherski and Fred Ingham are challenging incumbent Mayor Mike Bradley in Sarnia.

Eight candidates are vying for the four City/County seats including all four incumbents. 20 people are running for the four City Councillor positions.

There are several interesting battles shaping up in the county.

In Lambton Shores, incumbent Bill Weber is being challenged by former Deputy Mayor Elizabeth Davis-Dagg and former Ward 7 councillor John Russell.

Gord Perry is running against incumbent Ian Veen in a heated battle for the Mayor’s chair in Oil Springs and incumbent Don McGugan is facing a challenge by Jamie Armstrong in Brooke Alvinston.

The only other Mayoral race in Lambton is in Petrolia where Jeff Johnston is trying to upend incumbent John McCharles.
