Noise Bylaw Under Review

The Ministry of the Attorney General is now reviewing a new proposed noise bylaw in St Clair Township.

Mayor Steve Arnold says council approved the changes following numerous complaints about habitual late evening noise from weddings at a local venue.

The bylaw would prohibit the use of outdoor speakers between 10pm and 8am unless authorized by council.

The fine for violators would jump from 100 to $300.

The municipality hopes the new bylaw is in place by years end.
