Legionnaires Remain Perfect With Comeback Win

The winning streak continues for the Sarnia Legionnaires. The team is now a perfect 9-0-0 on the season following a thrilling 3-2 come from behind win over the Strathroy Rockets at Sarnia Arena.

Jordan Fogarty opened the scoring just 1:53 into the first period. Sam Vokes scored powerplay goals in the second and third periods for the Rockets then Riley Babkirk and Nathan Mater scored eight seconds apart late in the final frame to win the game for Sarnia.

Mater says it was a character win.

Legionnaires Head Coach Dan Rose is pleased his team was able to overcome adversity and battle back.

The Legionnaires went scoreless on three powerplay chances while Strathroy capitalized on two of five opportunities. Sarnia outshot the Rockets 40-31.

With the loss, the Rockets fall to 1-7-0.

The Legionnaires return to the ice next Thursday, hosting the LaSalle Vipers at 7pm on CHOK.
