Candidates Square Off Today

Candidates vying for a seat on Sarnia City Council will square off in an all candidates forum today.

The Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce and Seaway Kiwanis Club have teamed up to host the event.

Chamber President and CEO Rory Ring says the forum will feature all four mayoral candidates.

The lunch hour forum is planned from 11:30am to 2pm at the Dante Club on London Rd. The deadline to register was Friday, September 19.

There’s also an all candidates meeting tonight at 7pm at Port Franks Hall.

Three people, Elizabeth Davis-Dagg, John Russell and incumbent Bill Weber are in the running for Mayor while Doug Cook and Jordy Speake are running for Deputy Mayor.

There are races in all but one of the seven wards, as only James Finlay has been acclaimed in Ward 6.

Four trustees for the Public, Catholic and French school systems have also been acclaimed.
