Take Back The Night Marks 21 Years

It was first staged 21 years ago and just a handful of people turned out.

Now, the national “Take Back the Night” march draws thousands of people, as violence against women and children has become front page headlines.

Sarnia Lambton Sexual Assault Survivors’ Centre is once again inviting everyone to turn out at this evening’s event.

Executive Director Michelle Batty says they’ll gather at the Peace Court at Christina and Lochiel St. at 7pm.

620 women and children received some sort of aid through the Women’s Interval Home last year, while the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Centre received 388 crisis calls.
