The Sarnia Legionnaires are now 2-0 on the season following a 5-3 win over the visiting Strathroy Rockets in Greater Ontario Jr. Hockey League action Thursday night.

Jay Clarke led the way for the Legionnaires with two goals while Nathan Mater and Davis Boyer each picked up two assists.

Clarke says there’s a lot of confidence in the dressing room.

Legionnaires Head Coach Dan Rose says it was a solid victory.

Jordan Fogarty, Cody Trowell, and Ryan Trottier rounded out the scoring for Sarnia. For Trottier, it was his first goal as a Legionnaire since coming over from Lambton Shores in the offseason.

Mark MacAulay, Brett Dalton, and Stuart King each scored for the Rockets.

The Legionnaires went 3-9 on the man advantage and killed off five of six Strathroy powerplays. The shots were 45-32 in favour of the Legionnaires.

Sarnia has a week off and returns to action September 18 at home to London. That game will be live on CHOK at 7pm.
