Lambton county is offering $25,000 to support a campaign to bring a bitumen upgrader to Sarnia-Lambton.

The decision was approved unanimously during a council meeting Wednesday afternoon.

Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley says the decision to support the project was a no brainer.

A team of former Chemical Valley executives has been pushing for a refinery that would create jobs by processing and refining western bitumen here instead of sending the crude outside of Canada.
