Sting Wins Preseason Opener In Shootout

The Sarnia Sting opened its OHL preseason schedule with a 3-2 shootout win over visiting Saginaw at the RBC Centre Monday afternoon.

Rookie Jordan Kyrou, the Sting’s second round pick in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection, netted the winner, the only goal scored in the shootout.

Davis Brown and Ryan Vendramin also scored for the Sting who led 1-0 and 2-1.

Taylor Dupuis and Justin Fazio both looked solid in sharing the goaltending duties.

The Sting’s preseason continues this weekend, in London Friday night with the Knights visiting the RBC Centre Saturday night.

The game Saturday September 6 will be broadcast on CHOK 103.9FM, 1070AM.
