Matt Mitro Seeking City Council Post
Matt Mitro thinks Sarnia is a great city and he wants to make it better.
The 52-year-old has added his name to the ballot in advance of the October municipal election, running for one of the city’s four council positions.
Mitro is also a director of the Sarnia-Lambton Conservative Association and has been on the Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee for 30 years.
He and his brother Steve own Up-Rite Door Ltd. on Ontario St.
Mitro and his wife, long-time Sarnia Catholic School Board teacher Pat Tait, have four adult children.
Eight other candidates are running for the city’s four council positions while three have announced plans to campaign for Sarnia’s four city/county councillor positions.
Fred Ingham is the lone mayoral candidate so far and six people want to be school trustees.
The deadline to file is September 12.
