Upcoming Building Assessment At Sarnia Library
The long term future of Sarnia’s downtown library could soon be under the microscope.
City council is being asked Monday to authorize the services of Jorden and Cook Architects to complete a building assessment.
City Manager Margaret Misek-Evans says there’s no record of building assessment or as-built drawings for the library.
The County of Lambton operates the two-storey city-owned facility and is being asked to contribute just over $31,000 toward the total cost of just over $75,000.
Misek-Evans says the county is already planning to renovate the interior of the theatre. Updates to the library’s entrances and washrooms are also required soon to meet accessibility requirements.
