Sarnia has filled the vacant city clerk and deputy city clerk positions.

Nancy Wright-Laking will officially take over the role of city clerk July 28. She’ll be in charge of spearheading the fall municipal election and will act as the returning officer.

Wright-Laking says she’s worked on nine municipal elections in her career.

Wright-Laking is coming to Sarnia from her position as the CAO/clerk/economic development officer at the Township of Minden Hills and is the former city clerk for the City of Peterborough, a position she held for ten years.

Dianne Gould-Brown will join the city July 7 as deputy city clerk.

Brown is currently the deputy clerk/planning coordinator for the Township of south-west Oxford.
