Brian Knott was congratulated on a job well done and given a standing ovation by Sarnia Council following Monday’s special meeting.

It was his last before retiring as the city’s solicitor/clerk.

Knott has been with the city for 10 years.

His departure follows Deputy Clerk Brad Loosley’s retirement back in March.

One of the main roles in the clerk’s department is to manage this October’s municipal election.

City manager Margaret Misek-Evans told BlackburnNews in April that a plan was in place and work was underway to identify and develop internal employees to fill the positions.
