Two Women Rescued By Coast Guard
Two women have been rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard after their raft was sent adrift on Lake Huron near Sarnia.
The Coast Guard says around 6:30pm on Sunday, their command centre received a report that the two women had been pushed from shore by winds, stranding them on the water.
A Coast Guard rescue helicopter from Detroit and and a response boat from Port Huron were dispatched to help. The rescue boat was able to locate the two women and bring them back to shore.
The Coast Guard encourages swimmers and boaters to always check the current and forecasted marine weather before heading to the water.
