Lambton College Convocation

Nursing alumna Bonnie Kearns will address graduating students at Lambton College’s 47th annual Convocation this afternoon.

1,652 students are graduating this year, the most ever at the college.

President Judy Morris says Kearns has been honoured with the Order of the Red Cross, the distinction given by the Canadian Red Cross after several volunteer deployments overseas.

Kearns was deployed to Haiti during the 2010 cholera outbreak and assisted the community of Goderich following the 2011 tornado. She has also staffed a first aid station at Ground Zero in New York, spent six months in Afghanistan and responded to Hurricane Katrina and the Pakistan earthquake.

For the first time ever, the convocation ceremony will also be streamed over the internet. Click on this link to view

The ceremony will commence at 2pm at Sarnia’s RBC Centre.
