Petrolia Garbage Collection Stays The Same

After realizing it would not result in much cost saving, Petrolia council has decided bi-weekly garbage collection was not the way to go.

Instead, Mayor John McCharles says they’ll try to better educate residents about the need to recycle to keep taxes down.

He admits it’s been a hard sell. Petrolia still has one of the lowest recycling rates in all of Lambton County.

Petrolia will have to pay to have its garbage trucked to Watford once the dump in the Hard Oil Town closes in 2020.
