Candidate Profiles

Blackburn News is presenting a series of reports this week featuring the candidates running in Sarnia Lambton Riding in the June 12 Ontario election.

Progressive Conservative Bob Bailey is the incumbent for the riding. Bailey has represented the Sarnia Lambton since 2007. Before entering politics, Bailey worked with NOVA Chemicals for 35 years doing maintenance and construction.

He says having close ties to industry has helped him in his political career.

Bailey’s bill to give a 25 per cent tax credit for farmers who donate to local food banks has also become law.

He says the PC’s main focus in the election will be to create jobs, stimulate the economy, establish more affordable energy rates and get rid of the Ontario College of Trades.
