Body Recovered Near Blue Water Bridge

Lambton OPP have recovered the body of a male who reportedly jumped from the Blue Water Bridge last week.

Police say the body was found around 11:30 Monday morning, just south of the bridge.

Just after 10am last Thursday, a call was received that a driver had abandoned a vehicle on the north span and had allegedly jumped from the bridge into the St Clair river.

Lambton OPP, EMS and Pt. Edward Fire responded.

The Canadian Coast Guard, United States Coast Guard, Sarnia Fire and Rescue Service, Lambton OPP’s Marine Unit and the Sarnia Police Service had assisted in the search.

A post mortem examination on the body is scheduled for Tuesday. No name has been released.
