The harsh winter and wet spring have taken a toll on Sarnia parks.

Parks and Rec Director Ian Smith says they’ve only managed to cut the grass at 20% of the parks, which means sports leagues and outdoor events have been severely impacted.

Community Concerns for the Medically Fragile is postponing tomorrow’s fundraiser.

“Paws 4 A Cause” was to be held at Mike Weir Park near Bright’s Grove.

Spokesman Dave Ashdown says it’s because of the weather.

The event will be rescheduled for a later date.
