Ontario’s NDP leader says a New Democrat government would provide funding to prevent the closure of daycares like Sarnia’s Coronation Park Day Nursery.

Andrea Horwath spoke with Sue Storr on Chok’s “The Talk Show” today. (Wed)

“New Democrats have already made a committment to stabilize the childcare system with a $100-million investment,” said Horwath.

Lambton County Council will consider the future of the Coronation daycare June 4.

A petition opposing possible closure was submitted with 1,200 names on it.

The Oak Ave. centre in Sarnia is running a $1.1-million dollar deficit.

The Early Childhood Education Centre at Lambton College is slated to close July 18.
