Suicide Prevention Program In The Works
The Mental Health Commission of Canada is launching a suicide prevention program and Sarnia-Lambton will be taking part in the national initiative.
Sarnia-Lambton Conservative MP Pat Davidson says although a date hasn’t been set, local stakeholders and residents will join forces to talk about gaps in preventing suicides.
Davidson says ideas will be shared with other MPs across Canada. She expects a meeting will take place in either June or September.
There are an estimated 3,900 suicides in Canada each year.
