Nextera has started construction of a 92 wind turbine project in Lambton Shores and Warwick that will cost some $200-million.

Tuesday the Ontario Energy Board approved construction of a collection substation and transmission line for the Jericho Wind Project.

Company spokesperson Josie Bird says they now have all the required approvals.

Bird says it’s been a lengthy process.

We’re Against Industrial Turbines – Plympton-Wyoming spokesperson Ingrid Willemsen is disappointed OEB approval was granted.

The transmission line for the wind farm will run from Thomson Line in Lambton Shores east to the Bornish Customer Switching station in Middlesex County.

The wind farm is expected to generate 150 megawatts of electricity when complete at year’s end.
