Well Water Testing Encouraged
Sarnia-Lambton residents with private wells are encouraged to test their water and systems to make sure the water supply is safe.
Lambton Public Health has made the recommendation following the change in seasons and especially cold weather conditions over the winter.
The agency notes drinking water quality can change frequently and says it’s best to test the water three-four times per year.
Water sample kits can be picked up and dropped off at Lambton Public Health, CEE Hospital in Petrolia, and the North Lambton Community Health Centre. Samples must be dropped off within 24 hours of being taken and should be brought for testing in a cooler.
Residents are also encouraged to conduct regular maintenence on their systems by inspecting the well cover and sanitary seal for cracks and holes.
