Warmer Weather On The Way

We’re finally getting relief from this winter’s unseasonably cold temperatures, the forecast high on Thursday is 20 C (68 F).

The mild weather is expected to last through Sunday with highs near 17 C (63 F), well above the normal high of 11 C (52 F).

Environment Canada Meteorologist Geoff Coulson welcomes the mild weather after a record low mean temperature in the Sarnia area in March.

The mean temperature was -4.1 C (25 F), about 5 degrees colder than usual. The previous mean low was -3.9 C, set back in 1978.

Coulson says March was actually drier than normal in Sarnia-Lambton, with 39 mm of rain and snow melt. That was less than the normal precipitation of 62.5 mm.
