After selecting defenceman Jakob Chychrun first overall, the Sarnia Sting looked to add offence in subsequent picks Saturday in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection. Sarnia’s second round pick, 38th overall, is Jordan Kyrou, a 5’11”, 158 lb centre from the Mississauga Senators. Despite suffering an injury late in his season, Kyrou had 19 goals and 21 assists in 33 games.

VP of Hockey Operations Bill Abercrombie says they had their eyes on Kyrou and are pleased with the selection.

The Sting had two picks in the third round, 53rd and 55th overall, selecting Bradley Belisle, a 6′ 182 lb centreman from the Thunder Bay Kings and 5′ 7″ 168 lb right winger Chase Campbell out of Waterloo.

Sting Head Scout Nick Sinclair sees Belisle being a big part of the team over the next four years.

In the fourth round the Sting went back to a defenceman, drafting 6′ 1″ 171 lb Jacob O’Donnell who played with Clarington last year. In total the Sting picked 16 players over 15 rounds in this year’s draft.
