Bluewater Power President and CEO Janice McMichael Dennis.
Bluewater Health will participate in the event. The hospital sent out a notice that most of the lighting in non-occupied areas will be turned off in both Sarnia and Petrolia. Bluewater Health expects to reduce total electricity consumption by 15 per cent for the hour. The hospital says the electricity savings anticipated are almost 10,000 kwh, which is approximately equal to powering an average home for a year.
Earth Hour runs from 8:30pm-9:30pm tonight.
