Walter Petryschuk is determined to see Sarnia-Lambton’s petrochemical industry rejuvenated and is looking for big promotional dollars to do it.

The Bowman Centre associate has been canvassing local municipalities and industry leaders for contributions toward an advertisement showing a unified and visibly collaborative image of Sarnia-Lambton being “ready and willing to host an upgrader refinery” to process oil sands bitumen.

Petryschuk says the full-page advertisement would appear in the Globe and Mail energy supplement this May and could cost as much as $30,000.

He says they’ve already had interest from firms in Alberta who will be significant producers of bitumen in the next decade.

The County of Lambton and City of Sarnia are among many organizations already allocating funds for the ad.
