Pt. Edward Finalizes Budget
Point Edward residents will see the municipal portion of their property tax bills go up by just under two per cent.
C.A.O. Jim Burns says capital expenditures account for about $3-million of the $7.9-million budget.
He says a major part of that is for a rebuild of Venetian Blvd.
$250,000 will be spent to replace high-usage street lights with L.E.D bulbs that have a 7-year payback.
This year’s 1.83 percent municipal increase, when blended with the county and education levies means property taxes overall in the village will go up less than one per cent.
