Child Picks Up Syringe
Sarnia Police Service is encouraging parents to speak to their children regarding used syringes.
This after police say a grade 5 student walking home from school on Thursday March 20, saw a used syringe and may have pricked herself when picking it up. The syringe was found on Durand St. and police say this is not the first occurrence for that area in recent weeks.
Parents are asked to speak to their children about the dangers and tell them to find an adult if syringes are located.
Constable Les Jones also provides tips for adults to safely dispose of needles.
These containers can then be taken to Lambton Public Health.
Jones says people can always call police as well if they are unsure of disposal methods.
