College Grant Request On Hold

Lambton College

A $5-million grant request from Lambton College for a health education centre has been tabled for 45 days to allow more discussion.

Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley says there is general support for the college and the project, he just questions the location.

The $30-million facility would house health sciences students and ramp up health research with state-of-the-art labs.

A new free-standing building hasn’t been built at the main campus since 1972.

County Council took no action on a $25,000 grant request from Rural Taxi Service.

But did approve a $2,000 grant request from Walter Petryschuk for a full page ad campaign in the Globe and Mail.

The advertisement will state that Sarnia-Lambton is “ready and willing to host an upgrader refinery” to process oil sands bitumen.
