Watershed Statement Issued

With seasonable temperatures and rain in the forecast, the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority has issued a watershed conditions statement.

Manager of Water Resources Girish Sankar says snow melting coupled with rain will cause water levels to rise, but no other major issues.

Sankar says this “maple syrup type weather” with warm days followed by cold nights is ideal to slowly reduce the snow pack and start melting river ice.

The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority has also issued a statement saying there could be minor localized flooding due to warm weather and rainfall.
