Liberals Adopt Transportation Strategy
One of the Liberal Party’s key campaign platforms in the next federal election has its roots in Sarnia-Lambton. Delegates at the recent Policy Convention adopted a national transportation strategy that originated here following cutbacks to VIA Rail service.
Local Liberal party President Eileen Viola says the resolution was the first of 140 considered and was passed unanimously.
The policy was modified by other constituencies to include a comprehensive approach to transportation that includes the commitment to address the cutbacks in VIA Rail service in smaller communities.
