Point Edward Village Municipal Election

I am seeking re-election for the Village of Point Edward Council. My wife Erica & I have been married 20 years and we are the proud parents of three awesome teenagers. Being self-employed gives me the  lexible schedule to dedicate the necessary time and energy to the Village of Point Edward. There are several exciting developments on the horizon for our community and I would love to continue to be a part of our progressive future. I’m running for council because I was born & raised here and I want my family to continue to live in a vibrant, prosperous and independent Point Edward!

After topping the polls in 2018 I utilized my past work, volunteer and life experiences, plus my management training, to bring a fresh perspective to opportunities in the Village of Point Edward as Deputy Mayor. I will continue to be counted on to present unique solutions to the challenges that we will face now and in the future.
For this next term, I will continue my commitment to serve by being involved, aware and approachable. I will continue to be a collaborative Councillor with excellent problem solving and leadership skills. I am proud of my record of getting the job done with fiscal responsibility, transparency and accountability.
I retired as Director of Operations for Rogers Communications after 40 years of volunteering and working in community television. My responsibilities included human resources, operational efficiency, volunteer management, fiscal accountability, labour relations, strategic planning and negotiations plus effective government and public relations.
I have been a life-long friend of Point Edward and am now a permanent resident with my Point Girl spouse Leslie Cater. We have two grown children and are proud to call the original Cater family property our home. I am the son of retired City of Sarnia firefighter Larry and his wife Jeanne. I serve on the board of the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority, volunteer as Trainer with Point Edward Black Hawks hockey, and am Unit Leader with the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary. Previously, I was an Auxiliary Police Constable, Police Service Board Chair, Victim Services board member and counsellor, Rotary Club member and served on United Way and Red Cross boards.
