PJHL Pollock Division teams back on ice as early as February 4

The first games in the PJHL's Pollock Division will be played Friday, February 4.

That night, Mount Forest will play in Hanover at 8 p.m. and Goderich will be in Kincardine at 8:30 p.m.

It will be the first games in over a month after the season was put on hold because the province brought in COVID-19 restrictions that will be loosened as of January 31.

There is also a change in the playoff format, which will end in a four team tournament in Guelph.

The first round of the PJHL playoffs will run March 7 to 20, the second round, March 21 to April 3 with the Division Finals set for April 4 to 17.

After the eight division winners are determined, there will be four conference finals to be played April 18 to May 5.

Once the PJHL has its conference winners, the four will compete in a tournament style format with each guaranteed a round robin home game. Those games will be played May 7, 8 and 13.

And the semi-finals and final will be played May 14 and May 15 respectively.

The PJHL has secured ice at the University of Guelph for the Schmalz Cup Championship.

The reopening schedule for the PJHL Pollock Division is as follows:

Friday, February 4 Mount Forest at Hanover, 8 p.m. Goderich at Kincardine, 8:30 p.m.
