Organizers of the Port Elgin Chrysler Ontario Tankard presented by Bruce Power are monitoring the situation in regards to COVID-19 and provincial guidelines.
Current provincial regulations, which set limits to indoor events, are scheduled to expire on January 27th. The Tankard is scheduled to start on February 9th.
CurlON, the authorizing body of the event, is anticipating regulations will permit the Tankard to go ahead with 50% capacity and with food and beverage services. Those were the conditions in place prior to the stricter guidelines that were put into place at the start of the new year.
The host committee is also finalizing details should the event be cancelled or postponed. That includes creating a bubble to host the 2022 event without spectators or hosting the event in the future.
The committee is assuring ticket holders that they will have options going forward, including obtaining a refund should the event not proceed.
